Historically, individuals charged with war crimes face no real consequences unless they lose the war. Harry Truman killed hundreds of thousands of Japanese civilians when he dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He died a peaceful death as a very old man. George W. bush clearly started a war of aggression when he invaded Iraq in 2003. He too caused thousands of civilian deaths, and now he spends his retirement painting bad art. I take Bush's case as a personal affront since my son, Hans, fought in that immoral war and came back damaged because of his experience. I suspect that the Leaders of Hamas will be punished simply because they will lose this fight. I don't think that Netanyahu will miss a meal or lose any sleep.
